In the realm of Artificial Intelligence and chatbots, having a presence has become important; businesses have hurried to create desktop and mobile applications for their bots to boost their functions and to make sure that they are frequently visible to users.
The Gemini app of Google for iPhone is a prime example of the same, which was launched for users all around the world on the App Store on November 14, 2024. The simple and easy features allow the application to have easy and convenient conversations with the users, the application is not only user-friendly but straightforward as well.
It has only a chat interface and a history of previous conversations of the users, they can interact with the bot using voice, text or even a camera and they will get answers to all their questions. It effectively mirrors the Gemini feature in the Google app or the experience of accessing the Gemini website through a browser.
A new feature has been added to the Gemini app which allows users to access Gemini Live making the bot more engaging and conversational in the chat mode which is a lot similar to the ChatGPT’s voice mode.
Gemini Live has been available to Android users for a few weeks however, it is going to be the first time when iPhone users will be able to use Gemini Live. In the initial brief tests, the application performed quite well and when using Live, it appears on both the Dynamic Island of the iPhone as well as on the lock screen. Just like other non-Siri chatbots, Google’s Gemini app on iPhone also has some significant restrictions when used on mobile devices, it cannot change settings and it is also not allowed to interact with other applications on the device. However, it will be able to access other Google applications including Google Maps, YouTube and others.
