Instagram Chief Shares Tips on How to Improve Content Performance in a Q&A

| Updated on 29 August 2024

Are you looking for ways to get more reach on Instagram? Well, don’t worry, the CEO of Instagram shared some invaluable tips on how you can improve content performance.

In a weekly Q&A session on IG stories, Adam Mosseri the IG chief shared some invaluable tips for users that can help them in improving their content performance. However, by following these tips, you won’t be able to suddenly triple your reach. These tips might help you drive more traffic to your content and boost your engagement a bit.

The first tip he shared is that you should re-post your Reels to Stories. Reposting content in different formats will expand your reach and drive more traffic.

Here is how he explained it.

“Posting a Reel to your Stories will help a bit with reach. Usually, for most people, your feed posts get a lot more reach than your Stories, and this is because there’s a ton of Stories inventory, so there’s a lot more competition relative to feed. But it will just generally be additive, so it’s a good practice, as long as it’s not something that annoys your followers.”

You are getting this advice straight from the IG head that reposting Reels to Stories is a great idea for more reach. So, if you are okay with it and your followers don’t mind, just repost some stuff.

He also shared a tip for a collab post. He says that people will see better performance of the post when the account with a bigger following sends the collab request.

Here is what he said.

“In general, the ranking system [for Collab posts] biases more towards the original collaborator than the person who accepts. It really shouldn’t matter, but right now it matters a bit, so if the original collaborator is the larger account, that will help on the margins.”

It means that if the larger account in a collaboration is the originator, then you will see your content grow more.
