Instagram is testing out another way to increase the popularity of notes with a filter on Reels posts. Some users are now seeing a new feed filter labeled “Notes” within the Reels tab on the app. This filter will only show the Reels with notes from your friends.
Here is a look.
A user by the name of Jaskaran Singh posted this example on Threads that some users are not able to access a new Notes listing in Reels. This new addition is beside already options of “For You” and “Nearby” feeds.

The new option will only display Reels that include Notes for your friends, providing another way to drive engagement.
Instagram enabled Notes on Reels just earlier this month. This new feature allows users to leave comments and remarks on Reels and feed posts that their connections are then able to see.
The Notes on the posts only last for three days. Only mutual followers can add notes to one’s post. This is another feature by Instagram that allows users to spark conversations and create engagement among friends.
However, many of the users are confused by the Notes feature on Instagram, they simply don’t have the interest in the option. However, a key demographic and the parent company of Instagram, Meta, has shown a lot of interest in this option.
This option is popular among young users who want their conversations to be private. That is why Meta is adding more and more privacy-focused features to their apps.
If you don’t like them, don’t use them. But it seems like the younger audience is using these features and they are here to stay.
