X is trying its best to boost its engagement to entice advertisers. A couple of weeks ago, the company released data on user engagement in a bid to strengthen its position.
Now, they are highlighting the popularity of sports discussions in the app to its advertisers.
Here is what they said in their blog.
“Over the weekend of July 13-14 2024, the sports world was buzzing as several major international tournaments crowned their champions. And when the sports world is buzzing, so is X. As fans tuned in to the action, they flocked to X to share their passion and pains before, during, and after the events. And they were joined live by brands, pundits and the athletes themselves.”
The above image of an overview of sports discussions tells quite a story. According to X data, the sports world is buzzing. However, the user growth on X is stagnant. The platform has not seen any user growth since Elon Musk took over the platform.
However, it remains the key destination for everyone who wants to discuss sports. X has a flourishing community around sports who participate in discussions in live events, sports communities, and more. Hardcore sports fans remain highly active and engaged in the app during a sports tournament.
And now with the Olympics just a few days away, X has shared the data to appeal to advertisers about the engagement it gets. Look at what X has said about the Olympics.
“The road to the Olympics continues to heat up. Conversation around the event has increased 112% in the past month. With 6 in 10 sports fans using X (20% more sports fans than other platforms), we can anticipate a historical level of engagement, viewership, and conversation during the Olympic Games. Athletes from around the globe, including many that participated in this weekend’s championship matches, will arrive in Paris, and the world will watch the events, emotions, and celebrations together live on X.”
X is still the key platform for in-the-moment sports coverage.
