A video of low quality has appeared on online platforms, purportedly showcasing a Nintendo Switch 2. This has ignited curiosity among fans along with speculations regarding the console which is yet to be released and also about the authenticity of the footage.
As per the reports of Kotaku, the video was uploaded to the Chinese platform BiBli and the first person to come across it was Nintendo Soup. The clip seemingly depicts an individual detaching a joy con from the side of the Switch 2 display very easily by just pulling it away.
The controllers that appeared in the video seem to have infrared sensors on the left as well as right joycons, besides this, they also have larger shoulder buttons.
both the right and left joycons along with larger shoulder buttons. This is in alignment with the earlier leaks which suggested that the Nintendo Switch 2 would have magnetic joycons and a more intricate controller design while still having the fundamental aesthetics of the original Switch.
However, the blurred video and the unclear nature of the things in it raise the possibility that it may be altered, probably showcasing a version of the console created from previously leaked information.
Information regarding the upcoming console available to fans is still limited, the only major announcement about Nintendo Switch 2 made officially by Nintendo stated that the console is expected to be released before April 2025. Although there were earlier rumours of a 2024 release, however, reports earlier this year pointed towards a delay. The specifications for the Switch 2 are still uncertain and unknown, although a report from Digital Foundry remarks that the system would use a custom Nvidia T239 processor. Nintendo has also confirmed that the new console will support backwards compatibility and the online services of Nintendo Switch will transition to the new system, it is a relief for the fans that at least one title has already been confirmed for the upcoming console.
