Amid growing concerns about the bot accounts on X, Elon Musk has announced that they have begun the purge of bots and trolls from the platform. This update is aimed at improving safety and authenticity on the platform.
The safety team on X also formally announced the initiative to combat bots and spam accounts on the platform.
As we’ve mentioned this initiative from the company comes months after rising user complaints about the presence of bots on X. This also seems the first major action of the new Safety head of X.
Some spam accounts are filling people’s notifications at random, which prompted the team at X to take heavy measures.
Taking to Social media on Thursday, Elon Musk also shared the news and revealed his plans to combat the bot situation. He also urged the users to report if any legitimate account is suspended. He also underlined the dedication of the platform to identify and penalize those responsible for bot activity.
This activity from the X team is significant as it is a concerted effort to get rid of the bot accounts from the platform.
This news comes just after Musk announced that the previous blue checkmark verification was reintroduced that was previously reserved for public figures and notable accounts.
