Digital Eclipse released the Tetris Forever online video game to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Tetris. The game is a collection of documentaries and includes more than 15 versions of Tetris.
As Tetris completed 40 years of video game history, the Gold Master Series represents a historical timeline in chronological order rather than including dozens of games. It adds content to the games so that players get an idea and understand the importance before playing.
Moreover, the documentary video game follows the story of Atari’s first five decades and how Jordan Mechner developed Karateka. These also include photographs, interviews, scans of original advertisements, and 90 minutes of documentary footage about the history of Tetris. Digital Eclipse added the key players and interviews of Alexey Pajitnov and Henk Rogers developers.

However, Tetris Forever was announced during the Nintendo Direct streaming on 27 August 2024. It was released on 12 November 2024 and is available for the Atari VCS, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC through Steam and GOG.
