Threads is now going to allow users to add up to 20 photos or videos to a carousel in a single Threads update. This is on par with what Instagram allows on their platform.
Check out the sample post by Threads account on the platform.

This is one of the worst announcement posts you could get from a social media company. But I guess they demonstrated what they wanted the users to know. So, no harm done. They effectively communicated how you can use the expanded carousel option.
Instagram expanded its carousel option last month and allowed users to post 20 frames at a time. Now, Threads has done the same. So, it’s not a surprise for us.
However, these are not quite the Carousels as they are on Instagram. You cannot compare them directly. However, the option to add up to 20 images or videos in a single post is the same on both platforms.
Now, it will be easier for users to cross-post from Instagram, which may be one of the reasons why Meta offered the same update on Threads. Threads wants users to engage as much as possible which is why they are creating a parity between these two platforms.
In a way, it will encourage the users to post more on Threads as it has the same format as Instagram.
This update is now available in the new version of the app. Go and update your Threads app to access this feature.
