After testing out the reply sorting on posts for a few months, X is ready to roll it out. The official handle of X, posted on the platform that they are rolling out this feature worldwide.

To test out this option, go to your device and download the latest version of the app. Now, open a post on X and check out the reply sorting options on posts.
In the above example shared by X, you can clearly see that there are three options now to sort the post replies. They are displayed beneath any post.
The options are: Trending, Most Recent, and Most Liked
What function the “Trending” option will serve is another mystery. How it will be ranked is not clear yet. We can assume that it will show the replies with the most overall engagement on their own.
The other two options are pretty much straightforward. One is for the most recent replies to a post and the second one is for the most liked replies for the post.
This makes sense for X to put more emphasis on this element in the app. Replies have become bigger on the platform because of the creator ad revenue share program. In this program, creators who are approved by the platform for the initiative will get paid a percentage of the ad income for promotions displayed within the replies to their posts.
In addition, this sorting filter could also help users avoid spam and scam bots, who try to take advantage of the conversations around trending topics.
