YouTube has announced the expansion of its auto-dubbing feature. This feature allows creators to activate translations of their content to reach a wider audience.
This was announced as a part of the “Made on YouTube” event this week, which essentially focuses on the AI features on the platform. YouTube also says that it will bring this revolutionary auto-dubbing feature to more markets and languages later this year.
Read for yourself, what the YouTube team said about it.
“In the coming months we’ll be expanding our AI powered dubbing tool, formerly known as “Aloud”, to hundreds of thousands of creators. Additionally, up until now, creators who had beta access were only able to dub English videos into Spanish and Portuguese, but coming soon we’re adding more languages, like French and Italian. Once creators have access, their videos will be automatically dubbed upon upload, with the ability to opt out if they so choose.”
The “Aloud” tool was first announced in 2022 as part of a Google translation experiment.
It was a complex system that involved text and audio. Creating automated audio translation is highly complicated, which is why Google has taken its own time when releasing this tool in stages.
Now, it seems that Google is confident in the tool and what it can do. This is why they have announced its expansion in the US to allow creators to expand their audience.
It could become one of the greatest tools in the YouTube library. It will certainly allow creators to foster connections globally. Or it will help them engage with different local communities.
All in all, the tool would allow creators to reach a wider audience than ever before.
The company is saying that they are expanding this feature over the coming months.
