Once again, YouTube is taking inspiration from Spotify to create something interesting for its users.
YouTube has launched its own take on Spotify’s yearly wrap-up of each user’s music interests.
YouTube is calling it the Music Recap of users. Here is a look.
The Music Recaps on YouTube will provide the users with an overview of the artists that they frequented on the app throughout the year. This way, the users can get a clear picture of what type of music they’ve been listening to in the past year.
Here is what YouTube said about this new feature.
“Music lovers can explore their 2024 Music Recap page on the YouTube and YouTube Music app and scroll through to see their personalized stats (top artists, songs, moods, genres, albums, playlists and more) from this year. With exciting new features, improved animations, enhanced photo quality, and the addition of podcast insights, your 2024 Music Recap is designed to celebrate all the sounds that made this year memorable.”
The Music Recap will have some animated screens to help guide you through your year in review. It will include data on artists, genres, and some other things as well.
Here is a look.
You can see from the second image; that the video platform has added a listening timeline that will highlight the key moments in your music journey throughout the year.
With this, YouTube is hoping to enhance music engagement. The insights and shareable data cards can work wonders for YouTube Music.
