On the Android side of things, Google Photos is one of the best backup solutions for us to manage the ever-growing image library. It also has some powerful editing options, thus ensuring that you don’t need a third-party app to edit your images on the go.
Despite having many powerful editing features, the app always lacked one basic feature: the ability to flip or mirror an image. You can edit your image with AI but mirroring or flipping is not there.
Well, Google recognized that and is rectifying its mistake by adding this feature to the app.
Many users on Reddit are reporting that the new Google Photos app crop tool now has a new Flip option. The new option allows users to flip the images with ease. Surprisingly, this option is even available for videos too.
When you use this option to flip an image or video, it will show the option to save it as a copy. It will not save in the same file, keeping the original image intact.
Before this, users only had the option to crop, rotate, or adjust a picture’s aspect ratio through this app. The most basic option of photo flipping was unavailable.
This option can now save you when you take a mirror selfie and the phone logo is backward.
Currently, this option is only available on the Google Photos app and not on the web version of Google Photos.
It is possible that you might not get this feature right now as they are gradually rolling it out for all users.
