Apple announced their new lineup of iPhones on Monday with bigger screens, bigger battery, and a new chip.
The flagship device from the company has slightly bigger screens on the pro models with 6.3 inches on the iPhone Pro and 6.9 inches on the iPhone Pro Max. This is a slight bump from last year’s models as they had 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches screens on the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models respectively. The company also says that the new devices have “the thinnest borders on any Apple product.” The outer edge of the device is still made from titanium.
The chip on the Pro devices has also been upgraded with a new A18 Pro. The 16-core neural engine chip will offer amazing performance for Apple Intelligence features. It also includes 15% faster performance than the iPhone 15 Pro models. The new chip also has a 20% faster GPU than the A17 Pro.
One of the biggest upgrades is in the camera department. All three cameras have been updated in the pro models. The new iPhone 16 Pro has a 48MP “Fusion Camera,” a new 48MP ultrawide camera, and a 12MP 5x telephoto camera.
Apart from the new sensors, the device also features a new camera control button in the iPhone 16 series devices. The new button will add multiple features to the device and most of them will come later in the year.
The new devices will also include all Apple Intelligence-related features with improved Siri as well. However, these updates will be coming in the later months.
The new iPhone Pro model starts at $999 with 128 GB storage plans. iPhone 16 Pro Max comes with a 256GB base storage option and starts at $1199.
Users can pre-order the new devices on September 13th on Friday. And they’ll be shipping them from September 20th.
