Asus ROG Phone 9 to Feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and Upgraded Display

| Updated on 12 December 2024

As expected, the rumors and reports about ASUS ROG Phone 9 have started to appear in the market. It has been seen on the certification websites ahead of its formal launch. The upcoming phone from ASUS was spotted on China’s certification body CQC.

One of the variants of the ASUS ROG Phone 9 with model number ASUSAI2501A was seen on CQC. From this, we can say that the device may launch before the end of the year in China.

Nothing much is known about the device.

A well-known tipster Smart Pikachu shared the CQC listing on Weibo. However, this new model is different from the one spotted a few months back.

ASUS ROG Phone 9 CQC Certification Listing

This listing reveals the following details.

  • The new ASUS ROG Phone 9 will come with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. Well, this is not a surprise as the Phone 8 came with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
  • In the case of the charging speed, the device could feature the same 65W charging speed as its predecessor. However, fans would love to get faster charging speeds due to its requirements.
  • According to the tipster, the device could come with 24GB RAM and 1TB storage. The Pro version of the previous ROG Phone had the same specs. However, the regular ROG Phone 8 shipped with up to 16GB RAM and 256GB storage.
  • The device could also come with an upgraded display panel. But there is not much known about it. It could mean that the panel will be brighter and have a higher resolution than the current FHD+ 165Hz screen on ROG Phone 8.

Based on the current leaks, it seems that the ROG phone could be miles ahead of the previous version.
