Epson is ready to launch new EpiqVision Mini EF22 and EF21, a new set of laser projectors that promise a compelling home theater experience for a low price.
The EpiqVision Mini EF22 version includes Epson’s popular 3LCD laser design. This design is known for its enhanced color accuracy while minimizing rainbow artifacts. This mini projector also supports HDR and has a maximum image size of 150 inches. However, auto-keystone and auto-screen fit functionality only works at 100 inches or less size.
One of the key selling points of this projector is portability, it weighs only 6.6 pounds and is 7.5 inches tall.
This projector is built with modern sensibilities and includes a gimbal that can rotate 360 degrees and swivel 150 degrees. With the help of this gimbal, people can easily set up this projector. Most companies nowadays include gimbals in their projectors.
There is a downside to this projector as well, it is only 1920 x 1080 resolution and has a maximum brightness of 100 ISO lumens. So, it’s not for daytime use. It also doesn’t have optical zoom. So, if you are placing your projector too far away from the screen, you’ll have to use digital zoom. We all know that digital zoom will botch the quality of the screen.
Its little brother, the Mini EF21 is identical to the EF22. There is only one difference, it doesn’t have the built-in gimbal. Nothing else has changed in this one. They’ve just released the same product with different names.
However, they said that EF21 can attach to a standard-sized tripod mount.
