Along with Pixel 9 series devices, Google also launched the Pixel Watch 3 as well.
The Watch 3 replaces last year’s smartwatch with two sizes, 41 and 45 mm this year. This year, Google has gone with a larger and much brighter display to better compete with Samsung’s popular Galaxy Watch offerings.
The new and improved Pixel Watch 3 offers longer battery life and improved health and fitness tracking features. The new feature includes better running and training load measurements without requiring a Fitbit subscription. It will also have a feature that detects the wearer’s pulse. If it detects that the pulse is stopped, such as during a cardiac arrest, it will sound an alarm and call for help.
The new Actua screen in the Pixel Watch 3 achieves a peak brightness of up to 2000 nits while the refresh rate oscillates between 1 to 60Hz.
Google also claims that battery life is also improved in this version. Now, it will last up to 36 hours with always-on-display. It will also go into the battery saver mode when it hits 15% battery.
The new Watch 3 also has a bedtime mode that turns off notifications and is always on display while you are asleep and resumes back after you wake up.
It has all the usual tracking features including heart rate, cardio load tracking, heart rate variability, SpO2, running, cycling, etc.
Both sizes of the new watch are available in a Matte Black Aluminium Case with an Obsidian Active Band and a Polished Silver Aluminium Case with a Porcelain Active Band.
The 45mm also has an additional color, a Matte Hazel Aluminium Case with a Hazel Active Band. The 41mm also has two additional colors, Champagne Gold Aluminium Case with a Hazel Active Band as well as Polished Silver Aluminium Case with a Rose Quartz Active Band.
The Watch also comes with 6 months of Fitbit subscription for advanced tracking and features.
The new Pixel Watch 3 is priced at $349 and will start shipping on 26 September.
