Instagram Chief Recommends Posting Carousels to Improve Reach

| Updated on 18 October 2024

Are you here to improve your Instagram reach?

If so, use carousels to your aid.

The chief of Instagram says that if you are looking to improve your reach, you can post carousels.

Adam Mosseri, the Instagram CEO, recommends that users should make the most of this new feature. With this latest advice, Mosseri provided some logical notes on why carousels are valuable for increasing the reach.

Check out this post he shared on his Instagram account.

Here is what Mosseri said.

“Why [do] carousels often get more reach than photos? Two main reasons. One, multiple pieces of media are going to mean more interactions with your carousel posts, and more interactions is going to mean more reach on average. And two, if someone sees your carousel post but they don’t swipe, we’ll often give that carousel a second chance and automatically move to that second piece of media for the viewer.”

So, according to Mosseri, carousels with multiple frames, provide more opportunity for engagement. The more engagement it gets, the more it will reach. This seems pretty logical as Instagram has increased the number of images in carousel posts.

With more frames in carousel posts, there’s even more opportunity to use carousel posts to engage your audience.

He also mentions that posts with music are now eligible to appear in the Reels tab. This also provides an extended opportunity to reach more people.

Well, this is a good tip from the CEO himself. Many Instagram influencers and marketers are using this tip to their advantage already.

If you have utilized carousels until now, it’s time to add them to your mix of posts. However, Adam also says that there is no point in forcing this without proper content.
