Finally, Overwatch 2 has teased the 42nd hero coming to the game in the new season 14. From the first look, it appears to be the Scottish leader of a rebel group called the Phreaks.
The fans of the game have seen some clues about their hero 42 from as far back as Project Titan and the original FPS.
Last year at Blizzcon 2023, Overwatch 2 revealed both Venture and Juno as new heroes to be coming to the game in 2024. However, some people with attention to detail noticed a new unnamed tank hero icon between Sigma and Winston on the hero select screen. It was an accidental teaser for the upcoming hero coming to the game.
The official trailer for Overwatch 2 season 13 has been released. Check that out.
At the end of the trailer called Spellbinder, a new voice cuts in as the camera pans over a vandalized spawn room of an existing map teasing a new hero.
The voice says, “It’s looking like a revolution.” YouTube captions attribute that voice to be a “Scottish Man.” The new voice says as we get a look at graffiti left in the spawn room of the Oasis map. You can see the “Fight Back” and “Phreaks” written on the walls along with some explosion of purple crystal shards.
Well, these shards look like something a hero would shoot. Now, some users on Reddit have dug up an image of a mohawked hero named “Phreaks” who was originally designed for the canceled MMO Titan before it was embedded into Overwatch.
Well, it is all just speculation for now. We may get a clear picture at the end of the year as the game makers have no plans to give us more than just teases.
There is plenty for us to be excited about until then in season 13.
