Pinterest Collage Remix

Pinterest created an engaging format with collages last year. It allowed users to combine images and cutouts to create new content. Now, Pinterest is introducing a new feature called collage remixing.

It will work just like the remix feature on short video apps like Instagram or Snapchat. The simple idea behind this feature is that users can now borrow an existing collage and put their spin on it. However, users who don’t like others taking their stuff can turn off the remixing feature for collages from settings.

To create a remix, users will have to navigate to the “Remix a collage card” option in the collage tool. Or you can simply click on the Remix button on a collage you came across while browsing. When you publish the remixed collage, the final output will have the name of both the user and the original collage creator.

Apart from this, they are also allowing the users to download and share collages in video format with different styles. It could be a regular video, time-lapse, unscramble, ink, or analog. It effectively means that users can now use Pinterest as a new short video creation app.

They are also allowing users to download the collages as an image. They also said that the ability to share the collage to other social media platforms will be added later this year.

They are doubling down on this feature as they’ve seen a 418% increase in the number of collages on the platform. According to their data, they are a great feature with Gen Z, who make up 72% of daily collage users.
