Resident Evil 2 Remake from Capcom has officially become the best-selling title in the survival-horror franchise. The title was released five years ago in 2018.
This news is confirmed by the official account of Capcom’s developing team. The company reports that they have sold almost 14 million copies worldwide, 13.9 million to be exact.
The popular horror game has surpassed the sales of Resident Evil 5, another classic Capcom title. This showcases the popularity of the remake, and how well the game was executed by Capcom.

In this post, they revealed that the RE: 2 remake sold 10 million copies in July 2022, and this year, the game has crossed 13.9 million unit sales. This has made it the highest-selling game in the franchise, which started in the year 1996.
The original version of this title was released in 1998 and it has become an iconic second title in the series. One thing to note here is that the current sales number does not include the numbers of the original game. That is why this milestone is even more special for Capcom.
