Snapchat released the performance update for Q2 on August 1, 2024. In that, the company reported that its Snapchat+ subscription package is now up to 11 million paying subscribers.
In the race for social media subscription services, Snap is the most successful to date. In the recent wave of subscription offerings by most social media platforms, Snap has the best offerings. Facebook and X are making the verification badge one of the main perks of a subscription. This dilutes the value of the product they are selling.
Snap has understood its audience and provides a service that they want. They provide some add-on features that make users’ life better while using the app.

“In 2022, we started Snapchat+ with just six experiences. Now subscribers have access to over 40 exclusive features, including Chat Wallpapers, Custom App Icons, and AI Bitmoji Pets. Our Snapchat+ community has also been first to try some of our favorite features, including Snapchat for Web and My AI, now available for Snapchatters globally.”
From the start, Snapchat has been one of the best apps that takes care of its user community. They understand the audience and that is why its AR features are a success.
Now, with the success of Snapchat+, they once again proved that they do care about the users.
Only YouTube and LinkedIn have a better percentage of users as a premium subscriber. However, Only YouTube and Snapchat publish the confirmed numbers.
Snapchat+ has a far better percentage than Meta or X subscription offerings.
