Steam has released the list of the Steam Family Live features as an upgraded way to connect through games. Users can add six family members including the one who can create the group. Family members can share their gaming library with everyone and play Steam’s games for free at the same time.
Apart from this, Steam also put restrictions on Steam Family and enhanced parent control settings. The gaming website doesn’t allow to invite people from different addresses. It means that Steam Family members are bound to have household residents.
However, having access to the Steam library doesn’t mean buying one game is available for all six members for free. For example, if two copies of games are bought by two people then any two people can play games at the same time in the library. Rather than this, if one person buys one game, then any one person can enjoy that game.
Therefore, Steam also offers parent control settings which describe that one adult is compulsory in every Steam Family. The adult user is in charge of controlling the activities of the child gamers. All adults can determine which games children can play and also limit their playing time on the Steam platform. The advanced feature of the parent control option controls the store, workshops, chats, and group activities for their children.
Another restriction that Steam introduced is that if an adult or other member leaves the group, they can wait for one year to join the same and separate group on Steam Family.
