In a new development, Threads will now start showing live MLB scores. This is a small but meaningful update on the platform.
After adding live scores for NBA games, Threads also integrated real-time Major League Baseball scores as well.
The company CEO Adam Mosseri shared this information on the platform.

The company started testing out sports features with NBA scores back in March, which has been a hit, according to Mosseri. Now, they want to leverage sports to bring more users to the platform. Once they’ve tested success with sports scores, they’ll continue to roll out more sports and league coverage in the coming months.
All you need to do is search for the team you want to see scores of and Threads will show the most recent or current match of that team. As you can see from the example above, search for an MLB team by name and Threads will display the scores from their games at the top of the search listing.
It will display the real-time scores from their latest match and a more recent match. It can also include a preview of the upcoming match and game time where applicable.
They’ve also added a filter for the post search results under the scorecard recently.
This news comes as Threads continues to add more features to take on Elon Musk’s X, which already offers live game updates. They want to capitalize on the popularity of sports action on X and want to attract X users to the platform.
Threads continues to add more and more features to compete better with X. This feature is another small step in that direction.
