Once again TikTok is updating its search ads campaigns. With this, they are adding new ways for brands to get their promotions in front of searching users in the app.
The new updated version of the search ads campaigns is now available for traffic and web conversion. It also includes new elements during setup, enabling advertisers to select keywords for their campaigns.
The updated search ads are giving advertisers more control over the placement of ads.
Last year, TikTok added a new Search Ads Toggle in ad campaigns which allows advertisers to display their ads in a related search query in the app.
With this feature, they gave them the option to show ads in related searches but they couldn’t target specific keywords. The new and updated search ads will appear the same in the app but it will have more control for the advertisers.
Here is how TikTok explains it.
“With Search Ads Campaign, brands have full control over how their content appears on the TikTok search results page, ensuring the right creative is served to the right users.”
Now, you can target specific keywords in the search option. It’s just that you have more options to control where your ads appear, relative to user queries.
This is an important aspect of the platform as 57% of users utilize TikTok’s search functionality and 23% search for something within 30 seconds of opening the app.
In recent times, the platform has also become a place for product discovery as well. TikTok is continuing to push itself as an e-commerce platform and viable destination for shoppers.
It is possible that it may become a viable option for shoppers over time.
