Meta-owned; WhatsApp is looking to add more transparency to its group invites. The new group chat safety feature aims to enhance the security of users when they receive an invite.
When an unknown person adds you to the group, they will now provide a bit of context about who added you to the group, what the group is about, and more.
This example in the above image provided by WhatsApp shows that the new context cards will include a note on who added you to the group, who created the group, when was this created, and the group description (if available).
This will provide an easy summary of that group for users to filter out spammy groups or those that you’re being added to by strangers in order to push their own agendas.

This update is a part of WhatsApp’s latest group safety tools. These new tools also include a new reporting option to help keep users safe.
In the past few years, WhatsApp has seen a steady rise in Group activity, which is why the company is looking to strengthen the feature. The users are driving away from public posting, and more towards private group engagement.
WhatsApp offering full message encryption makes it an enticing option for users. People in the West are also coming to the app and the company is seeing new sign-ups in the regions.
Due to the increased interest of users, group chat activities have become more significant for spammers. So, the new safety measure will surely help users to avoid those spammy groups.
