After much deliberation, X is finally building a new safety center in the US. The company announced the intention to build one back in January.
They said that they are planning to build a new “Trust and Safety Center of Excellence” in Texas that will be focusing on combating child sexual exploitation material.
Since then, the Elon Musk-owned company has been silent on the progress of the project. It was starting to feel like it was never going to happen now. It looked like a promise just to make the regulators happy.
However, we were wrong about this. It looks like they’ve gone ahead and built one. According to a new job listing posted in the app, they are building a “Trust and Safety Center of Excellence” in Texas.

As you can see from the screenshot, the company is now staffing its Trust and Safety Center in Texas at Hyperloop Plaza. Now, they are looking to boost its human moderation team to address the issues with spam and other types of rule-breaking content.
According to Elon Musk, everybody should have an opinion and that is why he is opposed to moderation. He wants less interference with what people want to say on social media.
However, there are elements on social media platforms that break the rules. For those, a human intervention is required. According to data from X, the platform now has far fewer staff working on moderation than any other social media app. Precisely, why the company wants to build a trust and safety center.
