YouTube is rolling out a host of new features for its users including, picture-in-picture for shorts and smart downloads. This is part of a wider rollout of its “jump ahead” feature for navigating through videos.
The video streaming platform officially added picture-in-picture for Shorts. It is another way of consuming Shorts, while it also provides smart downloads for people.
First, let’s look at PiP mode in Shorts. Now, premium YouTube subscribers can minimize the Shorts viewing window. This will help multitask and watch Shorts at the same time.

With this premium update, the company is making its Jump Ahead widely available to all users. The “Jump Ahead” button appears on the screen when users double-tap on the screen to skip.
The company is also adding smart downloads for Shorts. This feature will automatically download the Shorts for you based on your recent Shorts viewing experience history.Apart from this, YouTube has also been testing the redesigned UI for premium subscribers.
