“AI is the tool of the future for content creators—don’t fear it; learn to use it!” Benny Johnson (American Journalist)
While scrolling Instagram last night, I came across a post discussing the use of AI in the publishing field. I decided to review some comments just to see what others think of it.
As expected, full-on debates were going on in the comments, and from what I could gather, people were divided into two groups. One group believed that using AI for content generation is an excellent move, while the other group suggested that AI-generated content cannot match the level of human writers and might just be a trend that will fade away in a few years.
To some extent, I agree with the second group, that AI cannot provide ‘that human touch’ to the writings, but I completely disagree with the second part and I can give you six reasons that explain why AI is here to stay. Also, learn about Tools to Build Your Content Strategy by reading this article.
So, without further ado, let’s start with our first reason –
Without a doubt, we humans cannot match the speed and efficiency of AI tools. It is a matter of seconds for AI tools to generate well-versed and relevant content, this can be particularly advantageous for news outlets or content-driven social media pages and websites to meet stringent deadlines.
Not only organizations and websites, but it can be beneficial for individuals as well, I would sign up for something in the blink of an eye if it takes up even a little burden from my shoulder and saves me some time.
DO YOU KNOW?
An article from Reuters mentions over 200 books available on Amazon that are authored and co-authored by artificial intelligence.
Don’t you think, hiring a large team of writers would break the bank for organizations?
We all know that AI can automate certain tasks such as research, SEO optimization, editing, and writing which can help companies cut some costs and save significant amounts of money.
Now, before you come at me, let me clarify. I am not saying that AI would take away all the writing jobs or publishing houses should start using AI for everything. But AI can automate content creation to certain degrees that can prove to be of great help for both writers and organizations and make the whole procedure much more cost-effective.
If I ask you to analyze huge amounts of user data and write content that resonates with a specific group of audience, how would you react?
You would probably look at me like I grew another head, or I am from some other planet.
This is a little too much to ask for, isn’t it?
No one can analyze such a huge amount of data, and most of us will fail at this step only. However, AI is an excellent tool for analyzing user data and can be used for creating content that feels more personal and resonates with the audience, transforming the publishing landscape.
Almost all companies try to expand their reach and broaden their audience, but how to do that? Well, there are many ways to do so, language translations being one of them.
AI can provide significant help in the multilingual translation of content, and that too without any extensive translation services, saving their costs and expanding market potential at once. Nothing less than a cheat code for publishing houses, right?
Publishers need to keep up with the trends to stay relevant and keep their platforms alive. Here, as well, AI tools can prove to be of great benefit.
AI can be used to process immense amounts of data and identify the most relevant and trending topics, this helps publishers make smart and informed decisions.
Usually, when someone talks about the use of AI in writing, I can’t fathom why most people automatically think that we are talking about using AI for everything from finding the topic to writing, and editing.
This is definitely not the case, AI can simply be used to support and add to your creativity, innovations, and ideas by assisting you with its enhanced editing tools, multimedia integration, personalization, etc.
Remember that, AI is not here to replace you, but it is here to take your creativity and innovations up a notch.
