Apple just launched a new version of its smart speaker HomePod Mini in a new midnight color. The dark color looks similar to the original space grey but nicer.
The new smart speaker will go up for sale on July 17th in 31 countries along with the US. It will cost $99 apiece.
Initially, when Apple introduced the HomePod Mini, they launched in only two colors, space grey and white, but later they added more colors to the mix. It was available in space grey, white, yellow, orange, and blue.
The company is also claiming that the new speaker is made of 100 percent recycled mesh. Before, smart speaker’s mesh used 90 percent recycled material.
The pricing and general appearance of the new HomePod Mini remains the same. The new smart speaker is equipped with Siri and can sense temperature and humidity as well. You can also use it as an intercom when there are multiple speakers connected to the network. It can also detect when a smoke or carbon monoxide alarm is going off and alert you via your iPhone.
It runs on Apple’s S5 chip and seamlessly integrates with the Apple ecosystem, enabling Siri, streaming music, and other smart home features. It also features Apple’s U1 ultra wideband chip, a dynamic speaker with low harmonic distortion, 360-degree audio, and a passive bass radiator.
The device also supports Amazon Music and it can also paired with Apple TV 4K.
