This announcement means that Threads has reached this position in just over a year. However, many of us might dismiss Threads as they are using an already-established user base of Instagram. Meta piggybacked it off Instagram by linking the two apps.
Whatever it may be, accounts created on a platform and actively participating users are completely different things. The fact that the platform sees 200 people using the app each month is no mean feat, no matter how you look at it.
According to the data shared by the company, the growth rate of Threads has also increased significantly in recent months. It looks like Threads is gaining momentum over time.
Threads reached the 100 million milestone in October 2023, before reaching 130 million in February this year. Since then, it has been growing steadily and reached 150 million in April. Earlier last month, it was reported that Threads has reached the 175 million monthly active users milestone.
So according to the data provided by Meta, Threads has added almost a quarter million monthly active users in July alone. This means the platform has gained momentum this month. This is a good thing for the company.
There might be several reasons for this type of growth, US elections could also be a big factor.
However, Threads is still a long way from the X monthly active numbers. X has 500 million monthly active numbers, Threads is only 40% of that.
However, they are doing everything to appeal to more users. They are adding new features to the platform to make it more mature and engaging.
