Just last month, Apple launched the iPhone 16 series without the much-hyped Apple intelligence AI features. The tech giant said that the Apple intelligence AI features will soon come to the iPhones but they were not available at release.
The company previously revealed that the first AI feature will launch next month but didn’t give a date. However, a trusted source has leaked the date of the release of Apple Intelligence.
Mark Gurman, a Bloomberg journalist, revealed in his Power On newsletter that Apple plans to launch some AI features with iOS 18.1 on October 28 on Monday. His source tells him that the company is taking its time with the release of iOS 18.1 to eradicate any bugs the software might have. As for AI features, they are also gearing up to ensure its cloud servers can support all the anticipated traffic.
According to the company, the initial release of Apple Intelligence will offer writing tools such as rewriting, proofreading, and summarization. It will also include a natural language search for photos, the clean-up tool for object erasing in photos, and the ability to create videos from your memories with a prompt.
For now, only these features are coming to the iPhone 16 series devices with the iOS 18.1 upgrade.
Apple has noted in its roadmap that other Apple Intelligence features would be coming later in the year and in “the months following.”
Mark also noted that the next iOS 18.2 will bring support for Genmoji functionality and ChatGPT integration. iOS 18.4 will bring the upgraded Siri that is slated to launch in March.
Whatever the case, users will have to wait for a long time to get all the major AI features that Apple Promised on their iPhone. With the AI features, Apple is trying to catch up with Google or Samsung.
