Dell to Launch Qualcomm X Elite-powered Laptops Soon

| Updated on 14 May 2024

The upcoming Dell’s new notebook lineup is now powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon X Elite, the Arm-based processor. According to a report by WindowsReport, Dell’s X Elite powered laptop looks thinner than ever.

Dell XPS 13 9345

The most interesting model that will come with Snapdragon X Elite processors is Dell’s new XPS 13 9345, which is a sleeker version of the XPS 13 Plus from 2022. This device has a touch bar on the top row and comes with only two USB-C ports.

There is another leaked laptop from Dell in its Inspiron series which comes equipped with 16 cores Snapdragon X Elite processors and has 16 base RAM. The new Inspiron device is the PC for everyday use that is not as sleek as its other model. It also has more ports than the XPS model including two USB-C, one USB-A, and a microSD card slot.

It also comes equipped with a fingerprint reader and IR array for Windows Hello face unlock.

This new processor is supposed to be competitive with Apple’s M3 and M4 chips

Both of these devices will ship with the new and dedicated Copilot button on the keyboard, which offers quick one-tap access to Windows Copilot. The Copilot button-branded laptop will be marketed as an AI PC.

Microsoft is likely to unveil its Arm and AI plans for Windows at an event scheduled to be held on May 20. We expect OEMs like Dell, Lenovo, Acer, ASUS, and more will begin announcing their products with Arm-powered chips after that event.
