WWDC 2024

Apple has announced that its Worldwide Developers Conference will start on June 10 this year. We may get to see the early looks of iOS 18 and also updates for MacOS, iPadOS, and more.

Apple Senior Vice President of Marketing Greg Joswiak shared this news through the microblogging site X.

The tech giant will host the event online from June 10 to June 14 and allow the students and developers to attend the opening day event in person in Apple Park. The focus of this year’s event will be on how Apple is embracing AI.

Generative AI Coming to Apple Devices

In the last earnings call, Tim Cook said that the company will spend time and effort on AI and tech that will shape the future of the company. He even hinted at some announcements in WWDC 2024.

With their push for generative AI, it is apparent that AI will be a big part of the WWDC 2024.

Some reports also suggest that Apple is working with Google to bring Gemini AI models to iPhones to help their devices keep up with generative AI features available on other mobile devices.

iOS 18 and More

It is reported that generative AI features will be integrated with the new iOS version. It is also believed to be a major overhaul of the software and not just a minor refresh.

In an earlier news, Apple described their iOS 18 as ambitious and compelling. It is expected to bring new features to Apple’s built-in apps. Some apps might get AI features like Pages and Keynotes. The new update might also bring a change in the design and layout of the device.

VisionOS

While it didn’t mention AI in its press release for WWDC, it did mention that upgrades to the VisionOS will be coming. Apple will try to upgrade its first-ever mixed-reality headset software to give users a better experience and adoption.
