Apple is all set to introduce new iPads in its upcoming event on May 7. According to the Apple expert from Bloomberg, Mark Gurman, the company is poised for a Mac lineup makeover with the M4 family of chips.
Mark suggested a strong possibility that the new iPad Pro will be powered by using the M4 chips with advanced AI capabilities.
This move by Apple is in line with what the industry is heading towards. Apple wants to be the first company that has AI-powered tablets.
At WWDC24, the focus will shift to demonstrating the M4 family of chips and how the new iPad will leverage AI software and services in iPadOS 18. The iPadOS 18 will be released later this year.
Mark also anticipates that Apple would market their new A18 chips for iPhone 16 as AI-centric. Apart from the chip upgrade, the key improvements include an OLED display, a repositioned FaceTime camera, and a revamped magic keyboard and Apple Pencil accessories.
He also suggests that the new Apple Pencil will have haptic feedback. He didn’t say it specifically but hinted about it. But I’m not sure having a tiny motor inside the Apple Pencil would be a great idea for battery life. Maybe that is where the rumors of Apple Pencil support for the Vision Pro may come in. No one knows what Apple is planning with their new Pencil.
